Ryan Dobbins is the Vice President of Strategy & Integration, where he leads the integration and organizational transformation efforts that enable the company to scale effectively through growth and acquisition. In his role, Ryan brings together strategy, operational execution, change management, and culture to ensure that acquisitions are successfully integrated while preserving the strengths and entrepreneurial characteristics that make each organization valuable to SMG.

As SMG continues to expand across geographies, service lines, and markets, Ryan is responsible for establishing a structured and repeatable approach to growth. He leads the development and execution of SMG’s integration management office (IMO) across people, processes, systems, and culture, serving as the accountable executive responsible for driving strategic milestones, coordinating cross-functional teams, identifying risks and barriers, and ensuring acquisitions progress from close through full integration.

Beyond integration and culture, Ryan serves as a cross-functional leader responsible for creating accountability and value around major strategic initiatives to strengthen organizational alignment. He partners with each functional leader to establish operating rhythms, define milestones and ownership, monitor progress, and escalate obstacles with strategic execution. This enables SMG’s leadership team to evaluate organizational transformation, cultural, and strategic priorities alongside financial and operational performance.

Outside of Ryan’s time at SMG, Ryan has served in several executive leadership roles at large-scale organizations, including Director of Corporate Safety and Health at American Electric Power and Vice President of Environmental, Health, and Safety at AWP Safety. Ryan is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), a Project Management Professional (PMP) and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Science from Indiana University’s School of Public Health.
