LEADERSHIP TEAM

Brad Hunt has been at SMG for over 20 years and currently leads a large, nationwide team supporting clients across the construction, manufacturing, and utilities sectors. With extensive experience in safety leadership, Brad brings a deeply personal commitment to protecting people on the job, and a proven ability to build scalable, high-impact safety programs. 

Brad earned a Bachelor of Science in Safety Management from Indiana State University. While still a student, he attended a Hoosier Safety Council seminar where he met Safety Management Group’s founding president, Kent Burgett. That conversation left a strong impression on him and sparked his interest in the company. After gaining hands-on experience in construction and seeing the impact that safe work practices have on both workers and projects, Brad joined SMG in the early 2000s. His first role was supporting the Eli Lilly account as an owner’s representative for construction safety. 

Since then, Brad has held multiple leadership roles within SMG, including time on the Insights team, where he led training, assessments, and safety program development across industries. In his current role, he oversees the ProSolutions and non-AEP utility services teams, managing more than 75 professionals, with focus on Clients in Construction and Manufacturing. He is known for his deep field knowledge, business acumen, and ability to communicate the value of safety in both technical and human terms. 

Brad’s leadership style is grounded in empathy, credibility, and adaptability, qualities shaped by his experience in both frontline safety and executive roles. He takes pride in supporting associates’ growth and ensuring SMG’s culture of care extends to every client engagement.
