This course focuses on the roles and responsibilities that signal persons have performing proper hand signals, for both mobile cranes and tower crane operations, and understanding voice commands as outlined in the new OSHA standard.
Based on Federal OSHA §1926 Subpart CC as it pertains to Qualified Signal Persons. • Understand terminology of the new standard. • Understand crane characteristics & limitations. • Understand signal person responsibilities. • Know when a signal person is required. • Know, understand, and demonstrate hand and voice signals. • Know audible signals. • Understand crane dynamics as it pertains to a signal person. • Understand tipping and structural competence. • Understand the dangers of working around power lines. • Understand step and touch potential. • Understand the requirements of 1926 Subpart CC as it pertains to a signal person.
Participants will receive a certificate and wallet card upon successful completion.
